That’s right. We go together like silicone and bleach blonde tramps.
There are few things in this life I enjoy as thoroughly as a good combo word.
If you want to class it up (and as usual, I don’t) you can refer to combo words by their text-book name, portmanteau.
Combo words and I began our love affair a year or so ago when I watched an episode of Tyra about….you guessed it…sexting!
Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photos electronically, primarily between mobile phones.
I just could not believe my amusement at this beautifully constructed, hilariously propagandist gem of language.
I spent the next several weeks cramming the word sexting into as many conversations as possible.
(honestly, I cannot begin to understand why people who have a choice decide to subject themselves to me)
I then graduated to attempting to create my own combo words at every opportunity.
(seriously, my friends deserve medals)
I have mostly failed at this endeavor, but a few of my attempts have managed to stick into my personal loser language, such as my favorite, fundane.
My friend and I tend to spend a lot of time doing things that would be considered mundane. But, when we do them together, we always have fun. And that makes it FUNDANE!
(seriously…..medals)
A few of my favorite combo words:
Male nurse?
Murse! (also man purse!)
Hip gay asian?
Gaysian!
Too poor for a vacation, so you’re going to stay home and fake one?
Staycation!
Tell me your favorite combo words! (Or why you hate them.)
Man boobs = Moobs.
OMG Moobs! How could I have forgotten moobs?! Thank you Jane! 😀
Haha I like your blog too!!
P.S. Fundane – LOVE IT!
Brunch.
No, wait. It’s just the food I like.
I think the only one I’ve used was Frienememy. Or however you spell it.
Hmmmmm…
You got me bitch!
Now I’ll have to spend the next 2 days trying to come up with cool ass combo words!!!
Grrrr to you!
